On Spring Festival, my parents usually take me back to myhometown. My hometown is a small town. Many of my relatives move to the largercities, but we usually go home when the Spring Festival comes. During thegathering, we share our lives with others and care about each other. Of course,big meals are necessary. Families prepare for the big meals together. They allcook their specialty dishes. Therefore, our meals are always delicious. We oftenstay at home for three days and then we leave with others’ wishes. I like theSpring Festival, because I like family gathering.

Every year, Spring Festival makes me happy, because I can spend a longholiday to stay with my families. On the New Year’s Eve, all the families gottogether. We woke up early in the morning and then my mother started to purchasesome food to prepare the big dinner. I helped my mother to bring the food.Before dinner, there was a tradition in my hometown. We needed to bring thechicken to take a bow to our ancestors, showing our respect and gratitude. Whenthe dinner’s ready, we ate happily and talked a lot. Then at night, the familiespasted the New Year’s scrolls and decorated the house. What a harmoniousenvironment and we enjoyed the family hour. In the next few days, I visited alot of relatives.
